12-round Fight
John Hopoate vs Bob Mirovic

Wednesday 7:00pm September 10, 2008
Australia's former world boxing champion Barry Michaels says Bob Mirovic would "kill" John Hopoate if the heavyweight pair clashed this year.
Michaels spoke to AAP after watching former rugby league bad boy Hopoate, 32, maintain his unbeaten record from two professional fights with a clinical technical knockout over New Zealand's Alex Mene on the Gold Coast.
In a controversial decision, referee Cyril Cairns stopped the fight 58 seconds into the fourth round after Mene had been pummelled on the ropes.
Veteran boxer Mirovic again issued a challenge for Hopoate to take him on, saying "the worst thing that can happen is he gets beat".
But Michaels said the former NSW Origin and Australian rugby league winger would be smashed.
"Bob would kill him," said Michaels, who won the IBF super featherweight title in 1985.
"Give Hoppa a go. Bob's a seasoned pro and he's world class. He might be 40 years old but he can still mix it with the best and he's a big, dangerous bloke.
"That's not on."
Michaels also saw Hopoate's stunning debut in Sydney last month when he took just 47 seconds to annihilate Frank Faasolo.
